The University of Florida opens the 2016 season No. 7 on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Preseason Rankings.

2015 NCAA semifinalist Florida State tops the NSCAA preseason poll for the second consecutive year. Preseason practice begins Wednesday for the Gators.

This is Florida's 20th consecutive appearance on the NSCAA preseason poll in the program's 22-year history. During the 2015 season, Florida swept the SEC regular-season and tournament titles, turned in a record of 19-4-1 and advanced to the NCAA Third Round.

Three on the 2016 Florida team have earned All-SEC honors. Three-time All-American forward Savannah Jordan is also a three-time All-SEC first-team selection and has twice been named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year (2013, 2015). Fellow senior Meggie Dougherty Howard was a 2015 All-SEC second team selection at midfield. In addition, redshirt junior Gabby Seiler, who transferred to UF, was a 2014 All-SEC first-team selection while with Georgia.
