No. 18 Florida Soccer Wins 3-0 at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. - Florida got goals from three different Gators en route to a 3-0 win over LSU Friday. The match was played Friday in front of 1,129 at the LSU Soccer Stadium.

Sophomore Melanie Monteagudo scored the only goal of the opening half, her fifht of the season, on a cross from just above the endline from fellow sophomore Samantha Chung. Monteagudo volleyed in from three yards at the far post in the 10th minute for a 1-0 lead.

Florida's second goal started with Meggie Dougherty Howard, who played the ball forward to Sarah Troccoli from the top of the box. Troccoli moved toward the goal, then played a square ball across the six-yard box for freshman Kit Loferski, who placed in at the far post in the 57th minute.

Freshman Julia Lester finished the scoring with her first collegiate goal. Lester scored on a strike from just inside the box in the 89th minute.

Florida's third shutout of the season and second consecutive improves the Gators record to 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. LSU is 6-7, 1-4 in SEC.
