UF basketball: Florida women advance past Arkansas, 71-61

GREENVILLE, SC -- No. 11 seed Florida beat No. 14 seed Arkansas 71-61 in Game 2 of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament on Wednesday.

Florida (15-15) vs. Texas A&M (19-10), 8:30 p.m.

Arkansas managed to overcome a nine-point first-half deficit, tying the game just before halftime. Halfway through the third quarter Florida caught fire, going on a 19-5 run to close out the quarter with a 52-40 lead.

Senior forward Ronni Williams' double-double led the Gators with 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting, 12 rebounds and 2 assists.

The Gators outrebounded the Razorbacks 50-32.

Florida (15-15) faces No. 6 seed Texas A&M (19-10) at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the second round in Game 6. Tipoff is scheduled for approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 5 between No. 10 seed Ole Miss and No. 7 seed LSU on SEC Network.
