New Florida women's basketball coach Cam Newbauer has added a transfer from a major program to his recruiting class.

Former Miami 6-foot-2 forward Zada Williams signed an agreement to join the Gators this week.

"I'm excited to wear the orange and blue,” Williams said. “I'm ready to put in the work and show the world what I'm capable of.”

Williams had 57 career points and 47 career rebounds in limited playing time in two seasons at Miami. A Babson Park native and former Lake Wales High standout, Williams will sit out next season per Division I transfer rules before being eligible for the 2018-19 season as a junior with two years remaining.

"Zada is a tough player,” Newbauer said. “She provides much needed size and skill at the forward position for us. She embodies everything we want in the character and passion in our program.”
