UF Roundup: Cameron wins women's shot at SEC T&F Championships

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Lloydricia Cameron won the shot put Friday to give Florida its first top finish of the SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

KeAndre Bates and Grant Holloway finished 2-3 in the long jump and Clayton Brown finished second in the high jump for the UF men, who are in seventh place after two days of competition with 23.5 points. Alabama leads with 54 points, Texas A&M is second at 38 points and Georgia is third with 35 points.

Arkansas leads the women with 73 points, Alabama is second with 30 and Ole Miss is third at 27.5 points. UF is seventh with 13 points.


Gators collect honors, to play USC

On the opening day of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament, six Gators were named to the IWLCA All-South Region Teams and will now be eligible for IWLCA All-American honors.

Senior attackers Sammi Burgess and Mollie Stevens, along with senior defenders Taylor Bresnahan and Caroline Fitzgerald were honored as IWLCA All-South Region First-Team selections. A pair of sophomores, attacker Lindsey Ronbeck and midfielder Sydney Pirreca, represented Florida on the IWLCA All-South Region Second-Team.

The Gators (17-2) will play Southern California (17-3), which defeated Jacksonville 13-10 in Friday's opening round of the NCAA tourney, on Sunday at 12 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium.
